Morning Has Broken

So Motley, the rooster, had a band on his leg from when I tagged him this spring. His legs are now adult sized and the band was too small. The leg skin started to grow around the band, which would have resulted in him losing a leg (I should have removed it months ago, but I forgot.)

We caught him last night and brought him into the laundry room/chicken hospital and cut off the band. I sprayed it with antibiotic and we let him spend the night in the house in the cage.

One thing about having a rooster in the house… he crows when IT’S MORNING!!! – at 0400.
